Cardiac sclerosis

 

 

The patient had longstanding tricuspid regurgitation. These photos are from a trichrome-stained section of liver. The  left photo

shows extensive fibrosis in the periportal areas and interlobular septa. The higher magnification on the right shows that fibrosis is extensive in the spaces within the lobule as well. This entity is also known as cardiac cirrhosis or congestive hepatic fibrosis.
