Passive congestion with centrolobular congestion
With increased venous pressure, the liver shoes passive congestion. When hypoperfusion also develops there is resultant centrolobular necrosis. Here is shown an hepatic lobule with necrosis of hepatocytes surrounding the central vein (near the center of the photo).
