Wong: Berlin ist nicht die Stadt, die jeder
besuchen möchte
I
feel like it takes a certain kind of person to want
to go to Berlin. It's not the typical city that
everyone wants to visit, nor the typical country
that everyone loves. So much has happened in German
history in the past 100 years that produces a
certain kind of people and such an atmosphere that
exists no where else in the world, at least not in
any large cities. While London is the prototypical
highpoint of culture and city life and Paris is
embedded (or stuck) in its history and New York
strives endlessly for more and loses its sense of
the people in it, Berlin is a city of never-ending
energy and change. Ten years ago, it was totally
different, and ten years from now, one can only
imagine. To take part in that change and to share a
piece of that feeling is something almost
indescribable, but unmissible for any who yearn for
something more.
