Architecture

Butler Hospital consists of 13 buildings on a 120 acre plot of land. It was designed to house 130 patients and designed in the Gothic Tudor style. Unlike the monotonous facades of older hospitals in Europe and in the US, here the 'flat' façade is broken up with protruding segments of the building. There is a cornice on the top of the central building and the windows use Connecticut freestone.
