A Sense of Community (cont'd)
The Mekong Market, like the any other markets throughout the United States, culturally marked the temporal and spatial arrival of Southeast Asian refugees into the United States and the social and cultural patterns these communities brought with them. Ironically, after interviewing Van, I ran into a Hmong family who kindly invited me over to their house for dinner. The deprived Hmong in me wanted to, but I sadly declined but told them, I will visit them sometime.
