Materials Research Science and Engineering Center

Personnel

The MRSEC is administered through Brown University's Center for Advanced Materials Research (CAMR), which handles major block grants in materials science at Brown. The MRSEC is operated under the direction of a Steering Committee, chaired by Professor William A. Curtin. Other members of the Steering Committee are Professors Eric Chason, Allan Bower and L. Ben Freund. All faculty working on MRSEC related research are listed below.

An External Advisory Board is seated to help support and shape the directions of the MRSEC and its operating procedures.  The six member Board, which is appointed by Brown President, consists of scientist in the field of Materials or Mechanical Engineering.  The Board visits Brown approximately once each year, or as needed.

The Technical and Support staff  directly involved in the MRSEC are personnel of the Division of Engineering or Center for Advanced Materials Research.  The staff supports the MRSEC as well as their remaining responsibilities, including teaching, within their departmental positions.  This has proved to afford the scientific community at Brown the expertise of qualified, interested, and well rounded staff, who are ready to handle a changing research activity.  The Division of Engineering and Center for Advanced Materials Research have central facility and administrative staff who also indirectly support this MRSEC.

Recent Ph.D. recipients and postdoctoral associates graduating with MRSEC support, with placement, are also listed.
