In both the first and second semesters of their senior year, honors candidates must register for an AMCV 1970 directed by their Thesis Director.

In addition to a Director, all theses must have a Reader. By the end of their seventh semester, honor candidates must submit to the concentration advisor the name of a reader. Readers may be Brown faculty members or graduate students.

  • Meeting with advisee on regular basis
  • Helping plan and organize research

  • Submitting a progress report at the end of Semester I to the Concentration Advisor.
  • Approving final version of the thesis
  • Submitting written reports summarizing advisor and reader's assessment of the thesis at the end of Semester II to the Concentration Advisor.

Thesis readers should:

  • Establish their role after consultation with the advisor and advisee
