For Students interested in studying ancient languages, courses are offered in: Akkadian, Biblical Hebrew, Coptic, Egyptian, Greek, Latin, Phoenician, Sanskrit, Syriac, Targumic Aramaic, and Old Aramaic / Imperial Aramaic / Biblical Aramaic.
Ancient Studies Seminar for Concentrators (AS100)

Seminar
The seminar is the single required course for a concentration in Ancient Studies. It is taught by faculty from various departments and pursues a question or problem across several ancient civilizations. Examples of seminar topics are: Sources and their Interpretation in Ancient Civilizations, and Perception and Representation of the Past in Ancient Civilizations. Members of the seminar will undertake supervised research on a subject of their choice. The course is open to juniors and seniors. It is recommended to take it in both years.
