Research
Faculty of the Department of Anthropology at Brown do research on a wide variety of topics and in many locations. For details consult the pages of individual faculty members.
Three or more faculty members are actively engaged in research on the following areas: anthropology and population; gender; historical processes of change and continuity; internal and external colonial relationships; politics and identity; and the organization of domestic units.
Many faculty collaborate with colleagues in other departments and universities and conduct research that crosses disciplinary boundaries. Graduate students in the department are encouraged to do likewise.
