The Center for Language Studies (CLS) organizes the Language Partners Program,
an informal conversation partners program designed to match students learning
a second language with international students.

Island
International House of Rhode Island is a non-profit, community-based multicultural
center that offers a variety of ESL and acculturation programs for Brown students

Center for Teaching and Learning
The Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning offers programs for Brown faculty
and graduate students designed to improve the quality of classroom teaching.
International graduate students can advance their communication skills by participating
in their programs.

The Writing Center is a free academic support service for all members of the
Brown Community. Their experienced staff will discuss all types of writing
and will provide advice through the writing process.

Intensive English Program
The Office of Summer Studies offers a variety of ESL courses during the summer.

Brown University’s Office of Training and Development offers non-native
English speaking staff ESL programs in conjunction with the Project RIRAL literacy
