Searching for articles
- PubMed is a U.S. National Library of Medicine database providing access to over 14 million citations for biomedical articles back to the 1950's. For citations from 1966 to date there are abstracts, and for some articles, depending on the publisher's policy, there are links to full text.
If you want to only search bioethics, go to Limits, and select Bioethics from the subsets dropdown menu.

Locating books in Rhode Island libraries
- InRhode Library Catalog combines the holdings of most of the state's academic institutions, and is soon to include information about books held in the hospital libraries.
Depending on your institution's policy, you may request the books directly online or you may need to go to your library.
Information for health consumers
- MedlinePlus is a database from the U.S. National Library of Medicine for health consumers. It includes information on over 650 health topics, in addition to drug information, medical encyclopedia and dictionaries, and referrals to libraries and organizations serving the public.
While "bioethics" is not one of the health topics, a search of the database will bring up information on such issues as gene therapy, cloning, and organ donations.
