He is a senior member of the Society of Thoracic Radiology and serves as a Visiting Scientist at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) in Washington, DC. A graduate of Cornell University Medical College, Dr. Abbott completed his post-graduate training at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He received fellowship training in chest imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital and previous training in neuroradiology at New York Hospital. His current research efforts are being conducted at the AFIP where he is reviewing large series of bronchial carcinoid tumors, localized fibrous tumors of the pleura, and congenital bronchial atresias.
