Symposium Grants for Graduate Students and Postdocs
Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows may apply for funds to defray the cost of attending the meeting. Funds are provided by the AGA and by a grant from NSF. To be considered for funding, applicants must do the following before 15 April 2009:
- Submit a Poster abstract and present a poster at the conference
- Submit a brief (< 300 words) letter of intent, and a description of your thesis or postdoctoral research goals
- Submit a CV confirming that you are a current graduate student or postdoc
Item 1 should be done on the Poster Abstract link; items 2 & 3 should be emailed in pdf format to Jody_Reich@brown.edu.
Abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific program committee, and grants will be awarded based on the evaluation by this committee.
Grants will be in the form of defrayed costs for the meeting – no cash will be sent to applicants. The cost of the Registration fee ($300) and three (3) nights lodging in the Dormitory ($150) will be awarded to successful applicants. These grantees will be sent a coupon code by email that ca be used to register (or credit a charge for registration) on the Registration web page.
We are not able to reimburse for travel.
