Undergraduate Teaching and Research Awards (UTRA)
A group of East Asian Studies undergraduates visited Taiwan for several weeks in the summer of 2002 as part of an UTRA grant.
As Brown's website describes it: "UTRAs Fellowships provide students with opportunities to work closely in research situations with faculty members, to participate integrally in the process of course development and revision, and to experience the work of college teaching directly. These collaborative projects can benefit students in several important ways: they provide valuable academic training, allow them to test their interest in pursuing an academic career, and they contribute to research and to improving the curriculum."
