The Economics Department at Brown University is seeking one or more tenure-track faculty at the Assistant Professor level, with the positions beginning July 1, 2010.  Candidates in any field will be considered but we have a particular interest in the fields of macroeconomics and applied microeconomics, broadly construed.  We also have an interest in candidates who can contribute to the Business Economics track of an interdisciplinary program in Commerce, Organization, and Entrepreneurship involving the Departments of Economics and Sociology and the Division of Engineering.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand or firmly expected by August 2010 and should show promise of significant scholarship and teaching ability.  A completed application will include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and a copy of important publications or working papers.

Candidates in any field will be considered but we have a particular interest in the fields of macroeconomics and applied microeconomics, broadly construed. We also have an interest in candidates who would be suitable for the newly endowed Rhodes Chair of International Economics and/or contribute to the Business Economics track of an interdisciplinary program in Commerce, Organization, and Entrepreneurship involving the Departments of Economics and Sociology and the Division of Engineering. Candidates should have demonstrated a significant influence on the profession by their research and publications and a commitment to teaching excellence at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Candidates for a Full Professorship should also be nationally recognized for their work. A completed application will include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, copies of important publications or working papers, and the names of at least five distinguished scholars who can provide references.
