You cannot get "credit" for Econ 0110 but you can place out of Econ 0110 with any one of the following:
AP tests in both Microeconomics and macroeconomics with a score of at
least 4 on each
IB HL exam in Economics with a score of 6 or 7 (IB Standard is not accepted)
British A level on a case by case basis- you must see the transfer
credit advisor for approval
You must either taken Econ 0110 or officially place out of Econ 0110 in order to enroll in upper level Economics courses that list Econ 0110 as a pre-requisite. If you do not follow the below procedure, Banner will not allow you to enroll>
AP of IB HL exams: you only need to make sure that the Brown Registrar has your scores. If you sent your scores before you matriculated to Brown, your scores should already be in the system.
Note that if you do place out of Econ 0110 with any of the above you need to take an additional 1000-level Economics course to meet the concentration requirement (6 instead of 5 1000-level courses) starting with the class of 2016.
You can meet the Economics department requirement of Math 0100 (as well as course pre-requisites of Math0100 or below) with any one of the following:
An AP BC Calculus test score of at least 4
An IB Math score of 6 or 7
You only need to make sure that the Brown Registrar has your scores. If you sent your scores before you matriculated to Brown, your scores should already be in the system. If not, you must make sure your scores have been sent to the Brown Registrar.
