Fall 2006 UEP Newsletter
In this inaugural installment, readers can find biographies of the first cohort of UEP Masters candidates. Overviews of the student’s summer practicum experiences as well as their internship placements for the fieldwork component of the program are also included. Readers can also learn more about our newest additions to the UEP Faculty, Dr. Rosa Cho and Dr. Martin West.
Spring 2007 UEP Newsletter
This spring reader’s gain an in-depth policy perspective on two distinctive nonprofit internship placements and the role that our UEP masters candidates, Katherine Wieland and Christian Caldarone, are playing in reshaping the urban education landscape.
We also read about the life and work of two of our distinguished faculty members, Dr. Michael Grady of the Annenberg Institute for School Reform and Dr. Cynthia Garcia Coll. Both professors reflect on the new program, what it means for their teaching as well as for the future of urban policy.
Fall 2007 UEP Newsletter
Since our last publication, the Education Department has been quite busy with our Summer Institute on Data Driven Decision Making (see page 2), visits to the Rhode Island Governor’s office (page 5) as well as placing our first cohort of UEP students into the policy world (page 6). In addition, you will find highlights from our UEP core faculty as they reflect on the first year of the program as well as thoughts from our second cohort interning in major cities outside of Providence.
