UNDERGRADUATE TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM (UTEP) APPLICATION
An interview with a Teacher Education faculty member is required prior to filling out this application.

REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS:
- If you have taken EDUC 0900 or are currently taking EDUC 0900:
1. If you have already taken EDUC 0900, submit the portfolio that you completed for the course.
2. If you are currently taking EDUC 0900, submit the second and third papers and three journal entries from your classroom observation.
- Submit a two-page essay addressing the following questions:
1. Why do you want to become a teacher?
2. What do you imagine will be your strengths and weaknesses as a teacher?
3. What do you think are the challenges of teaching secondary school today?
- Submit your Brown transcript (it can be a student-issued copy) showing courses and grades taken up to the present semester.
You should e-mail the essay and transcript to TeacherEd@brown.edu, or send them by mail to the attention of Teacher Education at the Education Department (Box 1938). Your EDUC 0900 materials should also be submitted to this address.
