From East:
- Proceed to Providence via 195
- Take exit 3 for Gano St
- Turn left at Gano St (signs for Gano St)
- Turn right at Wickenden St
- Turn right at Brook St
- Proceed several blocks and after passing the intersection of George Street, Barus Building will be halfway up the block, on the left
From West find your way to Interstate 95:
- In Rhode Island that would be via Hwy 6, 146, or 295
- Once on 95 follow the “North or South” directions below
From North or South:
- From either I-95 South or I-95 North, take Exit 22A, Downtown, Memorial Boulevard.
- At the fifth traffic light, turn left onto College Street. Cross the bridge and proceed up the hill following College Street to the end.
- At the top of the hill, where College Street intersects with Prospect Street, you will see Brown's Van Wickle Gates.
- Turn left onto Prospect Street.
- At the next light, turn right onto Waterman Street.
- At the second light, turn right onto Brook Street.
- Barus Building will be halfway up the block on the right side.
Parking
- For finding on-street parking:
- On-street parking at Brown can be difficult to obtain!
- Try Brook, George, and Thayer - all close to the Education Department.
- Most parking is two-hour.
- Hope Street (1 block to your right) is mixed 2 and 3 hour parking.
- For Visitor Parking:
- There is Visitor Parking Lot located near the corner of Waterman and Brook Streets.

Where on campus is Barus Building (not Barus & Holley)?
340 Brook Street is halfway between Waterman and George Streets. The Education Department's front doorway faces Manning Walk, a campus walkway, that runs between Brook and Thayer. Barus Building is the stone “castle”.
