Professor Cynthia Garcia Coll Receives The Cultural and Contextual Contributions to Child Development Award from the Society for Research in Child Development

Society for Research in Child DevelopmentThe Education Department is very proud to announce that Professor Cynthia Garcia Coll, Robinson and Barstow Professor of Education, Psychology and Pediatrics, has received the Cultural and Contextual Contributions to Child Development Award from the Society for Research in Child Development.

The Society for Research in Child Development is a multidisciplinary, not-for-profit, professional association with a membership of approximately 5,500 researchers, practitioners, and human development professionals from over 50 countries. The purposes of the Society are to promote multidisciplinary research in the field of human development, to foster the exchange of information among scientists and other professionals of various disciplines, and to encourage applications of research findings.

The committee reviewed what may be the largest number of nominees for its several awards and reviewed and discussed a very substantial amount of nominating information in their selection process.
