“Makin’ Moves” is dedicated to providing mentors that have an awareness of the needs of high school student athletes academically and otherwise as they grow, mature, and begin thinking about and preparing for college.

Natasha Barrett Public Relations Coordinator

Natasha Barrett was born and raised in Miami, FL where she attended Barbara Goleman Senior High School. As part of the Goleman Gators track team she had an extremely prolific high school career holding many school records in the 400m, 800m, 4x800m relay, 4x400m relay, as well as qualifying and placing in her state championships every year. Unsure if she could manage running as well as her studies, but always having the desire to run, after deep thought and final recognition of her emotional attachment to track, Barrett decided to continue her running career at Brown University. She is currently Co-Chair of Students of Caribbean Ancestry (SOCA) and Brown Sistahs United (BSU), as well as Third World Center (TWC) Outreach Co-Coordinator. She is seeking a profession in the Medical world, specifically pediatrics, thus majoring in Human Biology.

Sandra Idehen Enrichment Program Co-Coordinator

Sandra is a Senior double concentrating in Africana Studies, and Philosophy & Moral Ethics. She is originally from NYC, where she was first exposed to leadership and community work through the Prep For Prep program. She is a former member of the Women's Basketball team. With Makin' Moves, she serves as the Co-Enrichment Coordinator and hopes to see the project take off before she graduates this spring.

Gavin Logan School Liaison

Gavin H. Logan grew up in Rhode Island, but is a native of Mississippi. He has 4 brothers and a sister. Gavin attended South Kingstown High School, where he participated in football, basketball, track, and was on an alpine ski team. At Brown Gavin studies political science while he is a member of the Brown University football team. Currently, Gavin maintains a 3.2 grade point average.

Nathan Odell SAT Prep Co-Coordinator

Nathan is a freshman engineering major at Brown University. A native of Newburyport, Massachusetts, he graduated from Newburyport High School where he lettered in lacrosse (3), football (3), indoor track (4) and soccer (1). He was also on the National Honor Society Executive Committee in high school. He has continued his athletic career with the Brown Men’s lacrosse team. Also a talented musician, Nathan enjoys playing the piano, oboe and saxophone.

Annesley O’Neal Enrichment Program Co-Coordinator

Before coming to Brown University, O’Neal earned letters in five different sports, garnering four letters, in four out of the five. With numerous recognitions and awards, Ann was probably the most athletically accomplished of our mentors throughout her high school career. Above and beyond her accomplishments in basketball, softball, track/cross country, tennis, and cheerleading, she was an Honor Roll and Lions Club Honor Roll student. She also received the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit. Here at Brown, she is a member of the Women’s basketball team and a Human Biology concentrator.

Paul Raymond SAT Prep Co-Coordinator

A member of Brown University’s class of 2008, Paul was an exceptional student-athlete in high school, and has continued his success on and off the field at Brown. An all Dade County selection from Miami, Fl, Raymond had extensive playing time and started four games for Brown as a freshman in the 2004 season. As a high school senior, Raymond was the only player to rush, throw, receive, and return a touchdown his senior year, and graduated in the top 5 percent of his graduating class. He enjoys watching sports, reading, music, and watching movies. His concentration at Brown, is in Business Economics.

David Williams SAT Prep/Scholastic Achievement Director

David Williams was born in Seattle Washington and was raised in Evanston Illinois. He attended Evanston Township High School, graduating in 2001. David entered Brown University the following September as a pre-med student. His interests, however, drew him elsewhere and he decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Africana Studies. David spent the entirety of his junior year at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, studying African history and politics as well as the Amharic language. After graduation, David hopes to continue his study of African languages.

Chazz Woodson Head Program Coordinator

A native of Virginia, Chazz graduated in 2001 from the Blue Ridge school, and will graduate this May from Brown University with a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies and a concentration in Human Development. A three sport athlete in high school, he continued his lacrosse career at Brown, garnering all-Ivy League, and all-New England honors as a junior. He also spent the fall of his junior year in NYC teaching fourth grade. He plans to continue teaching next year through Teach For America in Miami, Fla.
