Undergraduate Program
There are no prerequisites, but students are encouraged to learn German or French early in their college careers because so much of the scholarly literature is written in these languages.
The core of the B.A. program in Egyptology is two years of instruction in Middle Egyptian plus a senior seminar. In addition to these five courses, four courses must be taken from related offerings in other phases of the language or in lecture courses. Three programs to choose from are:
- Egyptian Language and Literature
- Egyptian Civilization
- Egyptian History
