Specs:

Install on a RC car (Mayhem from Radio Shack) 2 phototransistors pointing to either side of the direction of forward translation. Have the voltages from the emitter-follower stages be A-D converted to 4-5 bits of resolution, and the resulting digital information be UHF uplinked to a receiver near a computer. Also mount on the 2 sides of the RC car limit switches that can detect if the car has touched a wall of its environment. The two digital signals from the limit switches will be included in the data uplink.

Arrange that the decoded telemetry information will be available through a DAQ card to a computer running LabVIEW.

Create a LabVIEW VI that will send out control signals to a downlink 27 MHz transmitter. Signals from the transmitter will control the translation and rotation of the car.

Demonstrate that, with an obstacle in its straight-ahead path, the RC car can, under computer control alone, navigate from its start position to drive underneath a goal light about 6 meters away.

Until Specs are met weekly guaranteed appearance time is Friday at 11a.m.
