Rhode Island establishes a State Consortium for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (Robert Hurt, Co-Director) as collaboration between URI, Brown, and regional industry. The consortium leadership travelled to India in summer of 2011 to establish a Memorandum of Understanding with IIT Kanpur and its DTU Unit on Nanoscience (http://www.uri.edu/nano/).
