Professional Accomplishments
After three years as an assistant professor of English at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Denniston joined the English Department faculty at Brown, where she is also affiliated with the Africana Studies Department. She has published a book, Imaginative Reconstruction: History, Culture, and Gender in the Fiction of Paule Marshall (U Tennessee P, 1994), as well as several articles and encyclopedia entries on African American writers.
