Research Interests
Medieval literatures in Old and
Middle English and paleography. Special interest in chronicles of Britain and
their narrative revisions from 1130 to 1600. Also interested in medieval
representations of women, and history of the book.
Professional
Accomplishments
Bryan is author of Collaborative Meaning in
Medieval Scribal Culture: the Otho La3amon (1999) and articles
on La3amon's Brut and the Middle English prose Brut
and on medieval manuscript evidence for reception. Edited a special issue of
Arthuriana summer 2000.
