Brown in France Program and other Programs

Students enrolled in the Brown-in-France program may study for the whole academic year or a semester in Paris or Lyon. This is a direct entry program, where Brown students are enrolled directly in the French institutions : Universités de Paris 1, 3 and 4 (la Sorbonne), Paris 6 and 8, and the Internships in Francophone Europe (IFE) and Université Lumière Lyon 2. A preliminary four-week session in Paris enables students to perfect their French through an intensive language course taught by the program resident director (a faculty member from Brown's Department of French Studies). Language prerequisite: FR60 or equivalent. For more information contact the Office of International Programs at ext. 3555 or the campus director Professor Shoggy Waryn (semester 1) or Annie Wiart (semester 2).

Other approved alternative programs in French are also available from the OIP office and the OIP website
