The Cogut Center participates in many interdisciplinary initiatives throughout the year. In addition, we are key players in ongoing collaborations to promote the research, study, and enjoyment of the humanities at Brown.

Four new programs came about in 2008-09: Humanities/Science Project, a three-year collaborative program linking the sciences and the humanities; the Nanjing-Brown Joint Program in Gender Studies and the Humanities research initiative between Nanjing University and Brown; Brown in Cuba with Brown students attending class in Cuba while connecting electronically to a class in Providence; and Toward a Global Humanities, an interdisciplinary collaboration that explores the exclusion and marginalization of some human populations from the production and practice of dominant knowledge. Starting in academic year 2011-12, the Cogut Center is the home for the Religion and Internationalism Project, an interdisciplinary collaboration that offers colloquia throughout the year.
