Mazzanti's Shark's Belly

The Original Illustration of the Shark’s Belly have the preternatural quality about it that most other pictures omit. A few things must be observed about this illustration:

    • The Use of light and shadows create an indefinate quality to the pictures. It is hard to know or guess where Pinocchio’s shadows ends on the body of the Shark.
    • The resemble to a cave bring back memories of a “time before time”: prehistoric notions of monsters and humans living together in caves and fighting over the world. For more information on this nature of the shark click here.

Here, the lack of a panaromic look at the shark's belly unlike most other pictures adds the effect of imagening a creature that is both organic and also stone-like.
