On November 23, 2013, to celebrate the 700th anniversary of Giovanni Boccaccio’s birth and the year of Italian Culture in the United States,
the Decameron Web @ Brown University in collaboration with the Italian Consulate General in Boston, Massachusetts and the Ente Nazionale
Giovanni Boccaccio of Certaldo, Italy presented The Boccaccio AfterLife Award in three categories: the best translation or adaptation
into contemporary English; the best adaptation in other media (YouTube movie, Twitter, animation, videogame, etc. - in any language)
and the best theatrical adaptation in English and/or Italian. See winners and their entries here.
