In Boccaccio's fourteenth century vernacular, some
words were spelled differently than they are in modern
Italian (Ex. "Vinegia" rather than "Venezia"). To
ensure that you are using the correct "medieval"
spelling for your search, please reference the
following list. If the place you are searching for
does not appear, simply use the modern Italian
spelling. Please note that since all searches and
results are currently based on the Italian edition of
the text, English translations of place names will not
produce proper results.
