I don't really have anything to add to these thoughts but figured it wouldn't hurt to bring them back to your attention. Does anyone have any ideas/answers on this score?

My first impression, although there will be many more, is that it would be better to have the annotation appear over on the right where the themes, names and definitions appear. Now it seems to float over the text. Can we anchor it near the anchor string? Or is that something I should have done when I put it in?

The only immediate feedback I have is a reaction I mentioned a while back, i.e., it seems we're having some of the same encoding problems we had with Giovi, in which a space between words is accidentally deleted when a tag is set in. E.g., in the paragraph beginning "D'Abèl, suo figlio," where Genesì and Caino got squashed together. It's extremely easy to make this mistake and I for one had to go back and fix lots of similar mistakes while encoding the Dec.

If it's simply an aesthetic thing, no big deal. If it would mess up the string searches, however, we might need to fix them. I've noticed a fair number of such things, just casually scrolling through IV.lit.

On another note, in the theme category, what is "MAGIK"?

Mike, great news about Canto IV! I'm very curious to see it, when you're done. Yes, all of your work should be put in as annotations. In fact, if you feel like taking a break at any point and giving the annotation interface a test drive, go ahead and put in your annotations so far; I would estimate that the entire process will take between one and two hours. I'd be interested to know what you think of the annotation interface after you've used it a couple dozen times, and also how long the process actually took for you.

To annotate, go here and log in. You should have a username and password already; if not, let me know via email.

It looks great and promises to be an excellent addition. Can't wait. I'll probably finish the CFs for Canto IV by early this afternoon. Should these and what I did for the Accessus and I-III be put in as annotations? If not, how will they be put in?

The URL for the discussion forum is the same as the one for this blog, with the addition of forum/ on the end. Click on the link above to see the full URL.

I've added it to the side bar.

Vika, what's the URL for the forum? Shouldn't we have additional, specific guidelines (methodological procedures) for in-text annotators (to be gradually extended to others)? Shouldn't them be text-specific (eg. for Esposizioni, Pico, etc.)?
