Note: if calling within the Providence area, you do not need to dial 401, but just the last 7 digits. If calling a Brown office number from a telephone on the Brown campus, simply dial the last five digits. In Case of Emergency In the event of a serious emergency – including medical emergencies - dial the Brown campus police at 863-4111 (4111 from a campus telephone). Note that if you are experiencing an acute emergency off-campus, you can reach an emergency dispatch center by dialing 911. This applies to 98% of all locations in the United States and Canada. For situations that are not urgent, call the Brown campus police in the Department of Public Safety; dial 3-3322 from any campus telephone (863-3322 from off campus). If you are feeling ill or are injured and are unable to contact a member of the orientation staff, call Public Safety at 3-3322. They will dispatch Emergency Medical Technicians who can administer first aid or bring you to a hospitable emergency room if the situation warrants it. |
