 The LRC staff works with the Library to catalogue all of the LRC's holdings: these include videocassettes, DVDs, bound journals on second language acquisition (SLA) theory, applied linguistics and language technology. The LRC also houses a small collection of self-study materials in the following languages: Afrikaans, Amharic, Bulgarian, Cambodian, Catalan, Danish, Demotic Greek, Dutch, Farsi, Haitian Creole, Icelandic, Ilokano, Indonesian, Irish Gaelic, Lao, Pilipino, Sesotho, Shona, Slovenian, Swedish, Tagalog, Tswana, Twi, Vietnamese, Xhosa, Zulu These materials are searchable through Josiah, the Library's holdings database, and circulate in the same way as other video and book materials normally checked out through the Brown University Libraries.
The LRC currently holds approximately 2,700 foreign-language video titles (we're always receiving new titles ...) -- video materials include titles in Arabic, Bambara, Chinese, Czech, Farsi, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Kyrgyz, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and a number of others.
