registering for literary arts courses for fall 2008

LITR 110
These courses are open to undergraduates; you may take this course but may not repeat a particular genre (if you have taken Fiction Writing I already, you may not do so again). While most sections are open to all undergraduates, at least one section in each genre is open to sophomores and first year students only.


LITR 210
These courses are open to undergraduates. If you are a declared Literary Arts concentrator, you may register during the registration period for this course.

All others can submit writing samples in September on day one of the fall semester permission will be given shortly thereafter.


LITR 710

This course is for first-year students only, so only first-year students may register for this course.


LITR 1010

These courses (with one exception) require that interested students submit writing samples in September on day one of the fall semester -- permission will be given shortly thereafter.

The exception is LITR 1010D (Electronic Writing) -- if you have taken LITR 210D, or an advanced-level workshop in fiction, poetry or playwriting (or have taken Cave Writing or Electronic Writing as LITR 1110 courses), you may register during the registration process.


LITR 1110
These courses require that interested students submit writing samples in September on day one of the fall semester -- permission will be given shortly thereafter.


LITR 1150

Some of these courses may allow you to register. Most, however, require that interested students submit writing samples in September at the first class meeting -- permission will be given shortly thereafter.


LITR 1200 and LITR 1220

Students may register for these courses.


LITR 1230
Students may register for some sections and others require attendance at the first class in September.
