I guess we love these views of Malcolm, cause we bought em. We shed dollars to grasp at him as he was shifted through representations and exchange value (ideology -> reification -> consumption). He was a slippery thief, martyr, Lindy hopping, Allah Fearing, racketeering, street corner ministering, "HATE" mongering, self-sacrificing mutha! So, we spent more to pick up the splinters, I don't know if we unified them (shift -> consumption). I'm sure we did.
Some of us are pushin, but those pesky reductive black male images, ideologies, notions of power, still reek as we give that guy the dollars for the shirt where X stands at the window. He stands there lookin at the world / city / Nation of Islam / Any one who offends him / everyone who wants to kill him with his long black hard powerful weapon in his hand, just ready to blow, but lookin real cool. The caption below him reads "By Any Means Necessary!" I guess that means, AK-47s, black phallic displays, machismo, violent posturing, and paranoia are somehow linked in our desperate struggle for freedom.
