Amy Mendillo, Teaching Associate
Amy Mendillo is an active solo, chamber, and orchestral oboist. She is a member of the Binghamton Philharmonic in Binghamton, NY and an instructor in the Applied Music Program at Brown University. Previous appointments include the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, under conductor Daniel Barenboim. Amy played regularly with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as substitute Oboe and English Horn in concert, recording, and on tour. She has made solo and chamber music appearances with the Da Capo Chamber Players, the Greenwich Village Orchestra, the Syracuse Society for New Music, the University of Chicago Contemporary Chamber Players, the ICE Ensemble, and the Chicago Symphony’s MusicNow series. She was a fellow at the Tanglewood Institute, the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, the National Orchestral Institute, and the Acadamie Europeenne de Musique, under composer and conductor Pierre Boulez. Amy holds performance degrees from the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and Northwestern University.
