Giving Opportunities

Endowed Professorships
$3 million

To attract and retain distinguished physicians/scientists with a focus in women's health to lead clinical divisions in areas where Brown has established excellence. Income from the endowment would provide support for the faculty member's time spent teaching and conducting research, as well as a portion of his/her research expenses.

  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine
  • Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
  • Oncology
  • Urology-Gynecology

Endowed International Training Collaboration

Support to provide funding for faculty members, fellows and residents to participate in international health training opportunities across the globe. Travel stipends would be available for clinicians to teach and mentor other healthcare professionals in the various OB/Gyn disciplines, thereby bringing Brown's/Women & Infants Hospital's expertise to the international health community.

Flexible Research Funds

Seed Funds for Innovative Research

Research funds principally in support of junior faculty and/or those who need bridge funding between grants. Seed funds would be targeted for pilot studies that will provide early data needed to make faculty more competitive for other funding opportunities. In the areas of public health and global health, research funding will include the application of new research findings to the development of a women's health policy.

  • Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Gynecologic Oncology (including Breast Cancer)
  • Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
  • Women's Health in a Public Health Context
  • International Women's Health

Domestic Travel Funds

Support to conduct research outside of Rhode Island and Southeastern New England, as well as travel to conferences and meetings. The latter allows faculty, fellows and residents to share their research findings with colleagues as well as gain valuable insights from others working in similar fields of inquiry. Their participation heightens national awareness of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Women & Infants Hospital.

  • Domestic travel for faculty research
  • Domestic travel for faculty, fellows and residents to present at conferences
