Philosophical Interests:
Philosophy of Mind and Action. My dissertation is about our understanding of actions. In it, I contrast our practice of rationalizing explanations of actions with that of scientific explanation, examine current scientific theories of 'mind-reading and neurology, and finally compare my action theory against the metaphysics of reduction and mental causation.
I also teach Introduction to Philosophy at Connecticut College and a Philosophy of Religion class at Brown this spring.
