Prof Rolf-Peter Horstmann is visiting Brown for the spring semester of 2013.
Prof Horstmann received his Dr. Phil. from Heidelberg University in 1968. He did his Habilitation at Bielefeld University in 1979 and was a professor at Munich University and then at Humboldt University in Berlin until his retirement in 2007. Since then he has held several visiting positions, mainly at American universities.
Horstmann is the author and editor of several books and a number of articles which deal historically mainly with Kant, Hegel and German idealistic philosophy and systematically with topics in metaphysics, epistemology and philosophical psychology.
