The program is entered from the fourth
year of medical school, through the NRMP (National Residents
Matching Program). We accept applications from fourth year
medical students via the on-line Electronic Residency Application
Service (ERAS). Please refer to ERAS website at www.aamc.org/eras
and your own Dean's office to complete your application to
the program. The following information should be submitted
through ERAS for our program:
1. ERAS application form (including CV and personal statement)
2. Medical school transcript
3. National Board scores - Part I (Part II if available)
4. 3 letters of recommendation (at least 1 from a plastic
surgeon)
5. Recent photograph
6. Dean's letter is not expected until later in the year
No supplementary materials outside of ERAS are required,
and U.S. mail will not be accepted.
Two individuals are selected each year
through this process, meaning that those entering the final
two years of Plastic Surgery had been selected in the match
over four years previously.
ERAS applications will begin downloading on September
1, and our annual application deadline is November
5. Please contact your designated Dean's Office for instructions
on downloading to MyERAS.
Applications will be reviewed and interviews
will be scheduled with selected individuals on two possible
dates: a Wednesday morning in both December and January,
from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. Each candidate will have personal
interviews with the attending and resident staff of Plastic
and General Surgery, a tour of the hospital facilities, and
lunch with the staff. On the nights before interviews, social
hours will be held for applicants and resident staff with
an opportunity to informally get acquainted.
Please browse our web site for further information on our
program, where several links to other plastic surgery sites
can be found as well.
