Why I chose Brown

I chose Brown after attending medical school here and spending a significant amount of time with the Plastic Surgery department. I believed that the close-knit relationships among residents and attendings provided a healthy environment conducive to learning in the formative years of surgical training when fear and uncertainty are most likely to paralyze novice trainees.

When making my rank-list, I had fond memories of resident autonomy in the emergency department and operating room and knew that I wanted to avail myself of the same opportunities to see the translation of theoretical knowledge into operative technique.

Furthermore, considering the vast array of both elective and trauma cases encountered in this particular program, I was certain that training at Brown would best prepare me for a career in plastic surgery.

Favorite things to do in Providence

Living in Providence in the summer offers an endless number of things to do including a short drive to myriad beaches, trips to Block Island, outdoor dining on the water, and eventually surfing lessons! During the colder months, I spend time at the great restaurants in Providence.
