RESEARCH AND SCHOLARSHIP
Books in Progress
Liberalism and the Mixing of Church and State
A project that examines the implications of egalitarian justice for the
liberal theory of church-state relations. I argue that an affirmation
of egalitarianism requires that one also affirm a substantial mixing of
church and state.
Global Federalism: Classical Liberal Foundations of Global Political
Order.
A book-length project about global politics that combines political theory,
Early American history, and international relations theory. I explore
an analogy between the arguments for federation of the states in Early
America with arguments for federation of nation states in our day---with
special attention given to the arguments of the anti-federalists.
