Special Student to Degree Candidate
A special student is not admitted to the degree program but is permitted to take one or more courses in the program. A special student may apply to the Ph.D. program via the normal procedures at any time. If a student is accepted as a regular degree candidate, the courses taken under special student status could then be counted toward the degree providing the work is of acceptable quality.
