A Conversation: Brown, Protest, and Free Speech

Date:
Thursday, November 21, 2013 - 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Location:
LIST 120

Join the Janus Forum and the organizers and supporters of the demonstration against Ray Kelly as we discuss the role of protest and its effects, whether good or bad, on free speech at Brown.

Though there have already been several conversations in the aftermath of the cancelled Ray Kelly lecture, this event is meant to be a conversation organized by students, for students. The administration has taken an active role in organizing discussions about the protests, but we believe there needs to be a space in which students can discuss the issue amongst themselves. The organizers of the demonstration against Ray Kelly will speak for about 20 minutes, and then we will open up the floor to an informal Q&A/conversation for as long as we feel like talking. Come for as long as you want and share your two cents or listen. All opinions are welcome and encouraged to join the conversation.
