Date:
Thursday, May 3, 2012 - 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Location:
Salomon 101
Speakers:
Rod Paige and Randi Weingarten National conversation over public education reform takes many forms, but the debate has increasingly focused on teachers and their unions. Long believed by the public to be a stronghold of workers fighting to keep their jobs, teachers' unions are fighting to convey that they share the goal of improving schools and student achievement. Join Randi Weingarten (President of the American Federation of Teachers) and Rod Paige (former Secretary of Education under George W. Bush) as they debate the role of teacher's unions in education policy.
