Political Theory Project

Julie Rose (Ph.D., Politics, Princeton University, 2012) is a political theorist whose interests include economic justice and the ethics of the market, feminist political theory and household justice, and the history of political economic thought.  Her dissertation, “Leisure: The Resource of Time in Theories of Distributive Justice,” argues that citizens have a legitimate claim to leisure time because citizens generally require the resource of time, in the same way they require material resources, to exercise their formal freedoms.  While at Brown Julie plans to work on revising her dissertation and will also begin a related project on the history and ideal of freedom of occupational choice.
