Areas of Interest:
Fertility, Mortality, Disability, and Migration

Professor Avery is currently conducting research projects in the U.S. and in developing countries. His research focuses on fertility change, child health and mortality, disability, migration, methodological issues, elderly, and nestleaving. In addition, Prof. Avery is busy instructing trainees in methodology and the use of census data and is currently working on an Ethiopian census, is involved in a study of the demography of child disability and rehabilitation efforts, and beginning a project on the demography of childhood mortality.
