The Summer 2011 GIS Institute starts in just over a week! The preliminary schedule has now been posted and as the Institute approaches, you’ll be able to find lecture slides and related materials here – so check back frequently.

The first morning of the Institute, June 6th, we’ll meet in Room 245 at 121 South Main St. at 9:30am. We’ll have a light breakfast available starting at 9:00.

As you’ll notice, our schedule for the first week of the Institute is quite full; you can expect to spend full days in lectures and discussions with faculty and staff from the Library, EarthLab, S4 Faculty, and Fellows. Should any questions arise in advance of the Institute, feel free to contact Rachel Franklin.

The application deadline for this summer’s GIS Institute – which will focus on GIS and spatial analysis applications to health-related research – has been extended until Friday, May 13.  The application can be found here and an informational flyer is available here.  For questions or additional information, please contact Rachel Franklin at rachel_franklin@brown.edu.
