Bulletin #1 Literacy Resources/Rhode Island 21 February, 1997 Dear Colleagues, As some of you may know, I've recently become project director of Literacy Resources/RI, a reconfigured version of the Literacy Resource Center. This is a first attempt at disseminating information to adult education providers throughout the state. I hope to be able to share information about profess ional development, conferences, workshops and other items and issues of interest on a regular basis. For this first message, I'm using email, fax and regular mail to try to contact as many agencies and individuals as possible. Please let me know if you prefer to receive this information by fax, regular mail or email. I can be reached by telephone at 863-2839, fax at 863-3094, email at Janet_Isserlis@brown.edu or at LR/RI, Swearer Center for Public Service, B ox 1974, Brown University, Providence, RI 02912. In addition to print/email communications, I am also in the process of developing a listserv, an electronic discussion board of sorts, through which we are hoping that adult educators and learners c an participate in a more active manner. I understand that this first communication may have missed some providers; please, if you are aware of others who would like to receive these notices, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm looking forward to meeting you all within the coming weeks, and will be calling to set up appointments to visit you. As well, I hope that you will feel free to call and visit here.
